And although we might like to think that this commandment is only being directed at the disciples, or that it doesn't apply to us today, Jesus makes it time and time again throughout…See More

Good Shepherd Sunday

David was fourteen years old. He lived with his mother, Miriam, in a little village in Israel. His father had died several years ago, and since then David had been responsible for the family's small flock of 25 sheep – their only source of income.David, like all the village shepherds, took his flock out to the east into the desert. The Arabian desert is one of rocky crags; sure-footed donkeys and mules; sharp, dangerous precipices and wild animals. But David had grown up playing in the hills…See More

Yep, you got that right. We do not transform ourselves. We can choose not to let the HS change us but we can not do it without the HS. Thanks. D

Who is the Holy Spirit

This Sunday is known as The Baptism of Our Lord, one of the four or five times in the church year where we have Baptismal Festivals. In this morning’s gospel reading from St. Luke we are introduced to two of the symbols associated with baptism – water and fire. Water and fire, that powerful, awe-inspiring combination of opposites, is the birth-right of all Christians. C.S. Lewis - The Four Loves

I love white wine. I love my children, Ray and Aaron. I love James Bond. Any of them! I love my best friend Terri. I love Jesus Christ. One word in the English language which has so many meanings.

Lewis wrote that it began with his attempt to understand the Great High Priestly Prayer from St. John’s Gospel, which is also known as Jesus’ Farewell Discourse, John chapters 14-17,… Continue
